Synergx Corporation is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Morphogenesis, Inc., an emerging cell therapy company which began operations in 1996. The formation of Synergx marks a new era in comprehensive cancer management. The synergy of two cutting-edge technologies, one which detects and isolates circulating tumor cells and the other which takes the tumor cells and transforms them into a potent immunological therapy, creates an unprecedented approach to the management of malignant conditions and a company that is definitely greater than its individual technologies. Combined, these technologies will allow an unparalleled advance in establishing a comprehensive approach to early detection, isolation and superior patient-specific treatment for both leukemias and solid tumors.
For patients who have undergone failed chemo- and/or radiation therapy, this offers an opportunity to identify, capture and isolate the escaped chemo- and/or radio-resistant cells which are responsible for relapse, unresponsiveness to subsequent rounds of therapies and eventual mortality. The hardware/software components of the cell separation device have been completed and will enter beta-testing as soon as the final prototype of the cell separation cartridge is completed. The cancer vaccine is expected to enter human trials in early 2006.
